The goal of Prevent Child Abuse Pickens (PCAPickens) is simple--stop child abuse and neglect before it starts. Every child deserves a nurturing, healthy, and safe childhood. Unfortunately, the toxic stress of child abuse and neglect can damage a developing child's brain in ways that create outcomes that last a lifetime. Abuse harms more than just an individual child's chances for success---it also increases the annual economic burden on future generations.
The good news is that it is preventable!
